01 Does the EtherNet/IP IO only work with Rockwell PLCs?
No. EtherNet/IP is an open CIP standard and works with compatible controllers from Omron, Schneider, Mitsubishi and other vendors. The fastest integration is achieved with Rockwell systems via AOP support.
02 What is an Add-On Profile (AOP) and how is it installed?
An AOP is a configuration package that allows the device to be automatically recognised in Studio 5000. Simply obtain it from the Busbeck technical support team and import it into RSLinx.
03 What is the difference between implicit and explicit messaging?
Implicit messaging (Class 1) is used for real-time I/O data with low latency. Explicit messaging (Class 3/UCMM) is used to access configuration read/write and diagnostic data.
04 Is DLR (Device Level Ring) topology supported?
Yes. In a DLR topology, if a cable break occurs the network automatically reconfigures within milliseconds, preventing production downtime.
