The MPI to Ethernet converter bridges the MPI interface of legacy Siemens S7-300 and S7-400 PLCs to modern Ethernet networks. No PLC software changes are required — it adds Ethernet access while preserving the existing hardware investment.

With PG/PC connection, S7 communication and Modbus TCP proxy support, it significantly extends the life of installed systems.

No PLC Software Changes Required

The converter appears to the PLC as a standard MPI device. Existing PLC programmes continue to run without any modifications in TIA Portal or STEP 7.

PG/PC and S7 Communication Proxy

Transparently forwards PG/PC connection requests (programming, monitoring) and S7 communication requests from Ethernet to the MPI bus. Simplifies remote maintenance and SCADA integration.

Modbus TCP Proxy

Enables SCADA or supervisory software to access S7 PLC data over Modbus TCP. No additional licences or software installation required.

Fast Installation

Connect the existing MPI cable to the converter, plug the Ethernet port into the network and the device is ready. DIN rail mounting and compact form factor allow quick installation in existing panels.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 Does it work with S7-1200 and S7-1500?

No. The MPI interface is only available on S7-300 and S7-400 series PLCs. For S7-1200/1500, we recommend our PROFINET or ISO-TCP modules.

02 How many converters can be connected to the same MPI bus?

Multiple devices can be connected to a standard MPI bus, but each must have a unique MPI address. Consult our technical team for the recommended maximum node count.

03 Is additional software required for remote PG/PC connections?

No. Because the converter carries the S7 protocol over Ethernet, TIA Portal or STEP 7 work directly with it. No middleware or additional driver installation is required.
