Modbus RTU IO

Remote I/O module operating via Modbus RTU protocol over RS-485 serial line.

Serial. Reliable. Anywhere.

The Modbus RTU IO module collects and transmits industrial I/O signals over an RS-485 serial communication line. Its low cost and broad ecosystem make it the preferred solution for facilities of all sizes.

Integration into existing Modbus RTU networks is straightforward — ideal for modernising or extending the life of installed serial infrastructure.

Universal Compatibility

Works seamlessly with any PLC, SCADA or DCS system that supports the Modbus RTU standard. No proprietary drivers or configuration software required.

Flexible RS-485 Interface

Supports 2-wire or 4-wire RS-485 connections. Galvanic isolation preserves signal integrity over long serial cable runs and ensures reliable communication in noisy industrial environments.

Wide Baud Rate Range

Adjustable baud rate from 9,600 to 115,200 bps adapts easily to the speed of your existing network.

DIN Rail Mounting

Compact DIN rail design allows quick installation inside existing panels without additional space or special mounting accessories.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What is the key difference between Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP?

Modbus RTU runs over RS-485 serial lines and is common in low-cost legacy systems. Modbus TCP carries the same register model over Ethernet via TCP/IP. A protocol converter can be used to bridge the two.

02 How many devices can be connected on one line?

Standard RS-485 supports 32 unit loads per segment. Repeaters can increase this number and support cable runs up to 1,200 m.

03 How is the Modbus address configured?

A unique slave address between 1 and 247 is assigned via DIP switches on the module or through the web-based configuration interface. Each slave address must be unique on the network.
