Busbeck DeviceNet IO modules are fieldbus solutions built on the CIP (Common Industrial Protocol) architecture. They provide digital and analog I/O expansion on DeviceNet networks widely used in Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation environments.

Fully supports the standard DeviceNet trunkline/dropline topology. Connects directly to existing cable infrastructure, minimising installation cost and time.

3 Selectable Baud Rates

Configurable baud rate of 125, 250 or 500 kbit/s to match your network requirements. Lower baud rates support longer cable runs.

CIP Messaging Support

Supports both explicit (configuration and diagnostics) and implicit (real-time I/O) CIP messaging, enabling flexible and comprehensive data access from the PLC.

01 Does DeviceNet only work with Rockwell PLCs?

No. DeviceNet is an open CIP standard managed by ODVA. It can also be used with compatible controllers from Omron, Mitsubishi and other vendors. Rockwell systems benefit from the fastest integration via EDS support.

02 How is the MAC ID assigned?

A unique MAC ID between 0 and 63 is assigned via rotary switches on the module or through software. Each node on the network must have a unique ID.

03 How does cable length vary with baud rate?

At 125 kbit/s the trunkline can extend up to 500 m; at 500 kbit/s this drops to 100 m. Repeaters are recommended for longer distances.
